Club update, change is in the air!
The Bacchus Marsh Lawn Tennis Club provides both social and sporting interaction for a wide demographic in our community. Our participants range from 4 and 5 year olds doing Pee-Wee tennis through to our Senior
Social group who would have an average age in excess of 65.
With the club located in the rapidly expanding outer western region we are struggling to cope with the demand for participation from the influx of new residents. Facility upgrades are required to allow growth in our fully subscribed night senior competitions and our thriving junior community, both being coached and playing competition.
The club focuses strongly on increasing participation in the game; building our capacity and growing the support for our sport. The club has been working with Local Council, Maddingly Park Committee of Management, Sport & Recreation Victoria and Tennis Australia to develop a concept design and cost estimates on facility upgrades, including court resurfacing and the installation of lighting on 3 currently unlit courts.
The court redevelopment will ensure that the club will continue to be able to cater to the growing needs of the community.
The total cost of the upgrade is $405,000, meaning after funding from Council, Tennis Australia and Sport & Rec Victoria totaling $300,000 the club will be required to contribute $105,000.
We hope to commence the project later this year.
With that in mind, we have some additional funds to raise and are kicking off with a family games night on
Saturday 17 March, 2018 at the club rooms which will include:
